Waymo Expands to 10 Cities as Robotaxi Competition Intensifies, Registers 200 Million Autonomous Miles
Waymo, supported by Alphabet, has broadened its robotaxi services to include 10 cities, marking a significant expansion in the autonomous vehicle sector. The company announced its launch in four new locations: Dallas, San Antonio, Houston, and Orlando. Despite this growth, Waymo faces regulatory scrutiny due to several incidents involving its self-driving cars, including collisions with parked vehicles and a minor. Concurrently, competitors like Tesla and Baidu's Apollo Go are also making strides in their autonomous driving efforts, with varying levels of success and challenges.
