As Phoenix Wright approaches his 25th anniversary, Capcom is marking the occasion with an intriguing new development for fans: the announcement of a virtual reality adaptation of one of the series' core installments. While perhaps not what many enthusiasts anticipated, this move suggests a renewed focus on the franchise, with potential for further revelations on the horizon.

Amata Games, operating under license from Capcom, is set to unveil "Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies VR" in 2027. This VR rendition will be accessible on Quest and upcoming Meta VR Glasses. Originally launched on the 3DS in 2013, "Dual Destinies" later became part of the "Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy" on the Switch in 2024. The VR version promises an enriched gameplay experience, allowing players to not only shout "Objection!" but also execute the signature courtroom gestures within a fully immersive virtual environment. Players will step into the shoes of Phoenix Wright, Apollo Justice, and Athena Cykes, navigating courtrooms, examining evidence, and interrogating witnesses to clear their clients' names, delivering their pronouncements face-to-face as never before.

This announcement follows recent news from Capcom that the "Ace Attorney Trilogy" has surpassed 5 million sales. To further commemorate the series' quarter-century milestone on October 12, 2026, Capcom has released a fresh illustration by artists Kazuyu Nuri and Takuro Fuse, featuring fan-favorite characters in festive attire. This new VR venture reflects the ongoing innovation within the gaming industry, continuously seeking fresh ways to engage audiences with cherished intellectual properties.

The convergence of a classic game series with cutting-edge virtual reality technology highlights a dynamic evolution in interactive entertainment. This initiative not only celebrates a significant anniversary but also showcases a forward-thinking approach, promising a captivating and unique experience for both long-time fans and new players alike. By embracing new platforms and immersion, the world of "Ace Attorney" is poised to captivate audiences in unprecedented ways, reinforcing the enduring appeal of its compelling narratives and memorable characters.
