Elon Musk recently confirmed plans to expand Tesla's innovative diner concept, which merges electric vehicle charging stations with a retro-futuristic dining experience. This announcement follows the successful launch of the West Hollywood location, signaling a broader rollout of these unique establishments across key regions. The vision includes strategic placements in areas like Palo Alto and potentially Starbase, Texas, further integrating Tesla's ventures in automotive and aerospace.

Tesla Diners to Expand Beyond West Hollywood, New Locations Hinted

On April 16, 2026, entrepreneur Elon Musk, through a repost on X (formerly Twitter) featuring a clip of Tesla drivers enjoying food at the West Hollywood diner, announced, "More Tesla Diners coming." This revelation confirms earlier speculations and a hint from Musk on April 15, 2026, where he responded affirmatively to a suggestion for a Palo Alto location. The idea of these combined charging and dining facilities was first floated in October 2025, with Musk mentioning potential sites near Tesla's Giga Texas headquarters in Austin and its engineering hub in Palo Alto.

The current Tesla Diner, situated at 7001 Santa Monica Blvd. in West Hollywood, serves as the pilot project. It boasts over 250 dining seats, a rooftop "Skypad" offering panoramic city views, two large movie screens, and 80 V4 Supercharger stalls, making it one of the world's largest urban Supercharging stations. While the menu initially featured classic American diner fare such as burgers, shakes, and fried chicken, it was later simplified due to overwhelming demand. Despite the streamlined offerings, the West Hollywood diner has demonstrated significant popularity, with reports indicating sales of approximately 50,000 burgers in one quarter last year, underscoring the strong consumer interest in this novel concept.

This initiative by Tesla reflects a forward-thinking approach to enhancing the electric vehicle ownership experience. By combining essential charging infrastructure with attractive amenities like dining and entertainment, Tesla is not just selling cars but building an integrated lifestyle ecosystem. This move could set a new standard for EV charging stations, transforming them from mere utility stops into desirable destinations that offer convenience and a unique leisure experience. The success of these diners could influence future urban planning and infrastructure development, particularly in how public spaces cater to electric vehicle users.
