In a significant move to bolster the pre-owned goods market, Vinted, a leading European platform for individual buying and selling, has joined forces with DHL Group. This collaboration focuses on optimizing the logistical experience for German users, ensuring that shipping and receiving items through Vinted is as seamless and effortless as any other online shopping experience.

Vinted Forges Alliance with DHL to Revolutionize German Second-Hand Market Deliveries

On Wednesday, July 29, 2026, Vinted and DHL Group unveiled a strategic partnership designed to enhance the convenience and reach of the second-hand market across Germany. This alliance will direct Vinted users to utilize DHL's comprehensive network, including its automated Packstations, digital Poststations, and carrier-agnostic DeinFach lockers, for sending and receiving parcels. This move is particularly timely, as the latest DHL E-Commerce Trends Report indicates that a remarkable 67% of online shoppers in Germany have already engaged in selling items via digital platforms, underscoring the robust demand for efficient used-item transaction solutions.

The partnership builds upon a successful multi-month pilot program, according to DHL spokeswoman Sarah Preuss. A key highlight of this collaboration is the emphasis on locker-to-locker shipping. This option empowers Vinted sellers to deposit parcels at any time, while buyers can retrieve them at their convenience, thanks to the 24/7 accessibility of DHL's Packstations. Critically, buyers will not need prior registration for the Packstation service; the necessary collection code will be sent via email and will soon be integrated directly into the Vinted platform.

DHL's extensive network in Germany, boasting over 41,000 drop-off and collection points, including post offices and parcel shops, provides an unparalleled infrastructure for this initiative. Benjamin Rasch, head of sales and products for Post & Parcel Germany at DHL Group, highlighted the evolving landscape of online re-selling. He noted, "Reselling used goods online has evolved from a niche activity to an everyday phenomenon within just a few years. As a result, expectations regarding shipping are rising. People buying and selling privately want shipping to involve as little effort as possible." He further emphasized the growing importance of automated solutions like Packstations, confirming DHL's commitment to significantly expand its automated network to over 30,000 locations by 2030.

This partnership is also a boon for the circular economy, aligning with Vinted's mission to reduce waste by giving items a "second life." A Vinted survey from May revealed that 52% of sellers list items primarily to declutter and ensure items find new owners. Buyers, in turn, benefit from substantial savings, with Vinted reporting an average price reduction of 72% for fashion items compared to their original retail prices. Dovile Riskute, senior director of business development and operations at Vinted Go, underscored the value of DHL's network: "Thanks to DHL's nationwide network and, in particular, its 24/7 accessible Packstations, our members can send and receive parcels with maximum flexibility. This provides a strong base for further expanding our offering in Germany, and delivers against our ambitious growth aspiration." As Vinted continues its global expansion, recently launching in Australia with Australia Post as its delivery partner, this collaboration with DHL in Germany marks another strategic step towards solidifying its presence in key markets.

This collaboration between Vinted and DHL signifies a forward-thinking approach to e-commerce logistics, particularly within the burgeoning second-hand market. It not only addresses the growing consumer demand for convenient, flexible shipping options but also champions sustainability by extending the lifecycle of products. The continued investment in automated parcel networks by logistics giants like DHL suggests a future where sending and receiving packages is integrated seamlessly into daily life, empowering individuals to participate more actively in the circular economy. This model could serve as a blueprint for other regions seeking to enhance their second-hand marketplaces and reduce environmental impact through efficient logistics solutions.
