In an exciting development for the horror genre, acclaimed actors LaKeith Stanfield and Ben Mendelsohn have been confirmed to headline 'Molepeople.' This forthcoming feature marks a significant partnership between two prominent names in horror, Blumhouse Atomic Monster, and Paramount Primal, promising a thrilling cinematic experience for audiences worldwide. The collaboration is poised to bring a fresh narrative to the screen, combining the creative strengths of both production entities.

The film, 'Molepeople,' will be jointly financed and produced by Blumhouse Atomic Monster and Paramount, with Paramount also overseeing its global distribution. An official release date has been penciled in for August 27, 2027, building anticipation among film enthusiasts. Rob Savage, known for his recent work on 'Other Mommy,' is set to direct the horror thriller. The screenplay for 'Molepeople' has been penned by Nathan Elston, whose previous projects have garnered attention in the industry.

The storyline for 'Molepeople' is centered around a man's perilous journey into the forgotten tunnels beneath New York City. During his descent, he stumbles upon a clandestine and unsettling community that thrives beneath the urban landscape. This intriguing premise hints at a narrative rich with suspense and psychological tension, exploring themes of hidden societies and subterranean horrors.

According to informed sources, principal photography for the film is anticipated to commence in late November or early December, with filming primarily taking place in the United Kingdom. The production team boasts a strong lineup, with Jason Blum, J.D. Lifshitz, and Raphael Margules of Primal, and James Harris serving as producers. Executive producer credits go to Ryan Turek, Tracy Rosenblum, Nathan Elston, and Rob Savage, ensuring a cohesive vision for the project.

The project's journey to Paramount Primal began as an independent production. However, it transitioned to the larger studio after Lifshitz and Margules established Primal, their specialized genre label, leveraging their expertise to bring 'Molepeople' to a broader audience. Stanfield, who recently showcased his talent in Boots Riley’s 'I Love Boosters' and co-starred with Mark Wahlberg in Amazon’s 'Play Dirty,' is represented by CAA and Stark Management. Mendelsohn, represented by WME, recently attended the Venice Film Festival premiere of 'Company,' a thriller directed by Casey Affleck, where he acted alongside Scoot McNairy.

The impending production of 'Molepeople' signifies an exciting new chapter for the horror genre, uniting a talented cast and experienced production teams. With a compelling plot and a clear vision, the film is expected to captivate audiences and leave a lasting impression.
